To complement the ASM scientific and social program, there are a number of strong Sponsorship and Exhibition opportunities offered to allow organisations to increase and consolidate their brand within the intensive care field.
The theme of this meeting is cardiology in the critically ill –one of the foundation stones of contemporary intensive care practice. This guarantees strong attendance by delegates from throughout Australasia. Invited speakers include Intensivists, Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons from the cutting edge of clinical practice in our own region and beyond. International speakers of the highest caliber from Europe, the United States, and Great Britain are locked in, including international representation from pediatric critical care. With such a diverse array of speaking talent, this unique meeting will appeal to an audience beyond just the traditional College membership.
Visit the program page of the website for all session details.
The ASM target audience is primarily CICM Fellows and trainees, however, we do envisage other medical specialists will attend.
Following on from the great success of our first Trainee Symposium in 2017, we will deliver another outstanding program for our trainees, which will boost our trainee numbers for the event.
Our estimated attendance would be approximately 300+ delegates, however there are factors that will assist with boosting delegate numbers and we anticipate higher than expected attendance.
Our exhibition days have been extended to three full days, opening from Thursday through to Saturday , providing companies with one additional day to network with our Fellows and trainees. As usual all catering breaks will be held in the exhibition area to maximise the opportunities for delegates and providers to meet face to face.
Two social functions will be held within the exhibition area: Thursday Networking Drinks and Friday Welcome Function– Meet the Maker. Both will be an ideal time for trade to make those valuable connections.
We continually strive to improve networking relationships between our doctors and trade and 2018 will be no exception.

The College would like to thank all our Sponsors for their continued support of our Annual Scientific Meeting. Our Board, Committee, Fellows and Trainees appreciate the contribution of each organisation.
The National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre is a key element of the Australian Government’s disaster and emergency medical response to incidents of local, national and international significance.
The National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre—established in Darwin after the Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005—is an important hub for our emergency medical responses in the region. It also delivers training to clinicians in the region. Given Darwin’s proximity to Southeast Asia, its large military population and its capacity for growth in the decades ahead, the centre is well placed to become a regional centre of medical excellence in the region health services and gain valuable experience. www.nationaltraumacentre.nt.gov.au
