Abstract Submissions

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS OPEN 14 DECEMBER 2018

We invite researchers to submit abstracts for the 2019 CICM ASM. During the submission process you have the opportunity to select up to 3 categories to have your abstract considered.

Please ensure you read the guidelines for each category prior to submitting an abstract.

Submissions will be considered in the following categories:

  1. Felicity Hawker Medal presentations
  2. Best Free Paper presentations
  3. Short Paper presentations

FELICITY HAWKER MEDAL PRESENTATIONS ONLY

CICM trainees and new Fellows are invited to submit an abstract related to their Formal Project. The best four submissions will be invited to present their project at the Felicity Hawker Medal Presentation session.

In order to be eligible for the  Felicity Hawker Medal presentation, you must meet the following criteria:

Who can apply?

  • Trainees; and 
  • Fellows within 1 year of award of the Diploma of Fellowship 

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • My formal project will be submitted to the College in-line with the T-9 Formal Project Requirements at least 2 months prior to the presentation date.
  • I will submit an abstract relating directly to my formal project.
  • My abstract meets the eligibility criteria outlined in T29 - Guidelines on the Award of the Felicity Hawker Medal.

BEST FREE PAPER PRESENTATIONS

This session allows researchers to submit an abstract of high academic quality to their peers in a formal and robust session. The best four submissions will be invited to present.

Best Free Paper Abstract Guidelines/Assessment Criteria

SHORT PAPER PRESENTATIONS

The Short Paper Presentation session is held concurrently with the Best Free Paper Presentations. The Short Paper session allows researchers to present their abstract in a short, sharp and concise format.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. All abstracts must be submitted online. 
  2. Felicity Hawker Medal abstracts must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in Document T9 & T29. 
  3. All Authors must have read and understood the guidelines associated with the category in which they are submitting an abstract. 
  4. Authors may select to have their abstract considered for more than one category. 
  5. Should the Review Committee decline an abstract for one category, it is at the discretion of the Review Committee to offer authors another category. 
  6. All documents must be submitted prior to the closing date: 7th March, 2019. 
  7. During the submission process you will have an option to “Save as a Draft”. It is important to remember that this DOES NOT load your submission to the CICM ASM Abstract Site. You must SUBMIT your abstract for it to register. 
    • It is the authors’ responsibility to ensure the Abstract Submission is successful. You will receive a confirmation letter from CICM within 2 hours confirming your submission. If this is not received, please contact stephg@cicm.org.au
  8. Authors will be notified of results by email no later than 3 April, 2019.

Authors notified results by 27 March 2019
Authors of selected abstract to confirm acceptance by 3 April 2019
Authors must register to attend ASM by 4 May 2019
