This hands on one hour echo session will focus cardiac ultrasound. Join our expert facilitators and gain some hands on experience in small a group environment.
30 delegates per workshop session.
Numbers are strictly limited and you can only attend ONE of the mornings.

Lung Recruitment - To be or not to be
Presenter: Dr Swapnil Panwar
Open lung approach is one of the key strategies in managing patients with moderate to severe ARDS. 4 large randomised controlled trials with recruitment maneuvers (RM) followed by high PEEP failed to demonstrate improvement in clinical outcome and recent ART trial suggested actual harm. Should we close the door on open lung approach or do we need another randomised controlled trial?

RACE (Rapid Assessment by Cardiac Echo)
CICM have endorsed the running of the RACE course the day prior to the Trainee Symposium and ICU Update. This course complements the theme of the CICM 2018 ASM - Critical Care Cardiology. The course is run independantly of the CICM event and registration can be made by clicking on the link below.
RACE (Rapid Assessment by Cardiac Echo) is a well established transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) course, run in many countries around the world, specifically designed for critical care physicians. It aims to equip doctors with the skills and knowledge to perform focused bedside TTE so that common cardiac and haemodynamic disorders (eg: shock) can be identified quickly.There is a strong focus on HANDS-ON practice in this course.
