THE 2024 CICM ASM WILL BE HELD IN PERSON

Wednesday 29 May – Saturday 1 June 2024

We are thrilled to welcome you to the College of Intensive Care Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting at the gold coast convention & exhibition centre.

The Gold Coast remains the country’s premier tourist destination with an emerging culinary, musical, and cultural identity. Close to two international and national airports, perfect for attendees to have a holiday before or after the conference. The gold coast convention and exhibition centre (GCCEC) is a masterpiece of innovation and design, located in the heart of the city, 500 metres to the beach and within walking distance of thousands of accommodation options.

This year’s CICM 2024 ASM theme is Back to the Future; are we still standing to what really matters in an era of technological advancement? We will travel back to the past to think about the things we have done and reflect on just how and why this has led to the practice of today.

As we move into the future, an era of robotics, clinical information systems, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and databases, are we concentrated on the important aspects of intensive care? Or is it a case of all the gear and no idea?

We are confident industries will feel identified, represented, and related to the theme of our main program and preconference sessions.

We are proud of our scientific program, designed to be comprehensive, inclusive, and diverse, targeting all stages of the intensivist career: from junior trainees to very senior ICU specialists.

The program is being designed by an organising committee, with national and international recognition and different professional interests, guaranteeing it will appeal broadly and offer lessons translatable to all aspects of intensive care practice. National and international clinicians of multiple specialities and cultural backgrounds will speak on a diverse range of Intensive care medicine topics.

We will have interactive zones in the exhibition centre, where the companies can uniquely interact with smaller groups of delegates.

We are honoured to have an exclusive aboriginal painting as our LOGO, created to illustrate our region and working principles. We use the bunya nut as a symbol for sharing as the centrepiece representing the meeting place, CICM ASM 2024. We will share ideas, experiences, practices, and innovations. We hope to give our female representation a more prominent voice and utilise learnings and advancements to make waves in our communities and people.

We look forward to your presence and help in making this event one to remember.
