On behalf of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand, the organising committee of the 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) invite you to join us in Wellington between the 8th - 11th of September.

The theme for 2022 is Critical Care: Cancer & Chronic Disease – Impossible Mission? The meeting aims to cover the approaches and practices surrounding intensive care patients who suffer from long term illness such as Cancer and Chronic Diseases. This ASM will bring forth key aspects of critical care pertinent to all practicing intensive care clinicians.

The program will:
- Include a focus on old and new approaches to cancer and chronic illness in ICU
- Attaining optimal post-ICU outcomes for patients of all ages
- Navigating the financial impact of healthcare processes
- An ethics discussion around morbidity and death in ICU

Invited speakers include intensivists, anesthetists and Cancer & Chronic Disease specialists from within our own region and internationally respected professionals.

With a diverse range of discussion prepared around a compelling area of interest, this program is sure to intrigue and offer lessons translatable to broader intensive care practice.

As the cultural hub of New Zealand, the vibrant harbour city of Wellington bustles with creativity and artistic flair.

Our Thursday and Friday social events will embrace the vibrancy of Wellington, offering you an opportunity to sample the rich food culture that envelops this magnificent city.

In particular, Saturday evening will warmly congratulate all our new graduates at the ASM Dinner and Graduation Ceremony. The splendor of the Wellington Foyer will create a lovely dinner setting, with the iconic circular window enhancing the delight of this space.

The beautiful, grand Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa invites us to gather as a College and announce the achievements of our New Fellows.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to the refreshing harbour city of Wellington for the 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
